Our first ever family camp was held at Tawd Vale in August. 13 families camped, 4 families visited for the day, 80 people over the weekend. Activities included canoeing, kayaking, orienteering, fire lighting and cooking twists, BBQ campfire and Scouts’ Own. A great weekend.

  • January – Moonlight – a cross country hike with catchers. Three teams entered from the 9th and came 17th, 28th and 32nd out of 91 teams. Well done!
  • February – Scouts wrote and read prayers at Church Parade. Chopped logs in the poly tunnel at Gorse Hill Nature Reserve.
  • March – Night hike and sleepover in the H.Q. Two scouts went to the District PLs weekend at Bispham Hall. Sawed more logs at the Nature Reserve.
  • April – Fire lighting and orienteering. Cleared branches from a wood in preparation for chipping at the Nature Reserve.
  • May – St. George’s Day Parade. Ran orienteering at Christ Church School Fair. Patrol Camp at Tawd Vale.
  • June – Cooking competition at 40th Ormskirk H.Q.
  • July – Patrol Camp at Tawd Vale. Circus skills show in aid of Shelter Box. Three scouts attended the District Survival Camp at Scarisbrick Guide Campsite. Dug up thistles at the Nature Reserve.
